DIGITAL – a tradition of innovation. We have been working in system integration since 1986, delivering, designing and operating turnkey hardware and software systems.

DIGITAL Kft. has been active in system integration since 1986. Our core business is the turnkey delivery of hardware and software systems that meet our clients' requirements. Our aim is to connect system components so that, with all their original functional and technical characteristics preserved in every detail, they combine into a new, cohesive system.

From our earliest years, we have treated IT products and solutions as integral components that support our clients' operations and strengthen their market position. Colleagues who graduated from technical university in the 1980s reinforced this approach, shaping a professional attitude that still defines how DIGITAL Kft. works today.

DIGITAL Kft.'s current range of activities evolved alongside the Hungarian IT market. In response to our clients' needs, we built in-depth expertise in the design, implementation and operation of server farms, networks and related security solutions.

At the same time, we made a deliberate decision to base each component of our solutions on products and services from vendors with leading vision and solutions in their field.

As a result, we mostly recommend Hewlett-Packard Enterprise solutions for server, storage and active network infrastructure. For the software layer of the infrastructure, we primarily recommend products and services from Microsoft, VMware and Veeam.

In IT security, we use and represent solutions from many vendors, with a particular focus on Sophos, Sonicwall, Watchguard, Netwrix and ESET products.

For bespoke business development, our software developers prefer open source tools.

In line with recent trends and client demand, we have also moved beyond traditional on-premises data centre solutions into hybrid and cloud infrastructure. In 2022 we achieved Microsoft Gold Cloud Platform competency partner status, and one of our projects was featured in an international Microsoft case study.

We believe in keeping our expertise up to date, so in addition to ongoing projects and day-to-day problem solving, our specialists also pass vendor certification exams. As a result, our colleagues hold certifications such as Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert and HPE Accredited Technical Professional.

The complex Microsoft-based infrastructure projects we have completed in recent years have further strengthened our reputation. We are proud that a public authority employing more than 1,000 people chose DIGITAL Kft.'s specialists for its Lotus Notes to MS Exchange migration. We were among the first in Hungary to move a financial institution's entire IT infrastructure to the cloud, and today we continue to work on projects such as the AD consolidation of one of the country's largest employers.

Milestones

  1. 1986In our first year, commissioned by the Central Research Institute for Physics (KFKI), we provided nationwide authorised service for TPA computers (DEC-compatible MicroVAX). As technology advanced and demand changed, we soon expanded into the IBM-compatible PC market.
  2. 1989In 1989 we became the second company in Hungary to sign a reseller agreement for Hewlett-Packard computers and peripherals, and in 1991 we became a VAR partner of Hewlett-Packard Magyarország Kft.
  3. 1993In 1993 we began working with AT&T, then the market leader in structured cabling design and installation, and used its Systimax PDS system to build integrated network systems, for example at nearly 100 branches of OTP Bank Rt.
  4. 1990sThanks to our expertise and the quality of our work, we were commissioned to build networks in the Hungarian stores of the Praktiker chain (R&M freenet cabling, Nortel Networks and RIT active components). We also won a Phare tender issued by the Office of the National Council of Justice (OIT) and built local IT networks in 22 towns in 40 days.
  5. 1999From autumn 1999, under a contract between the Public Procurement Directorate of the Prime Minister's Office (now DKÜ) and Hewlett-Packard Magyarország, our company took part in centralised public procurement deliveries as a “Qualified Supplier”. We are still a consortium member in several DKÜ contracts.
  6. 2009In early 2009, the management of the Budapest Business School (now Budapest Business University) decided to install a Wi-Fi network across its campus for students and staff, and commissioned DIGITAL Kft. to design and build it. The wireless network consists of 232 access points and 2 central controllers, covering the faculty buildings, the Rector's Office and the halls of residence. In 2022, DIGITAL Kft. was again asked to redesign the system.
  7. 2017Since our ECDMS healthcare system went live in 2017, nearly 60 participating institutions have uploaded more than 100,000 forms covering almost 14,000 patients.
  8. 2017In 2017, a public authority with more than 1,000 users commissioned DIGITAL Kft. to plan its Lotus Notes to Microsoft Exchange migration and to support each step of the transition as an expert adviser.
  9. 2018In 2018, a Hungarian starch and raw materials manufacturer asked us to design and commission the data centre for a new greenfield plant.
  10. 2021In 2021, at the initiative of its parent company, Lombard Lízing Zrt. restructured its Hungarian operations and continues to operate today as AxFina Hungary Zrt. As part of this decision, its local data centre had to be moved entirely to Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure, and DIGITAL Kft. was also entrusted with operating the environment 24/7.
